This is just the intro…

Salutations, good people. Peace to you all.

I'm Charles, and I'm here to add good vibes your world with my blog. Why, you may ask? Well, let me tell you a little story.

Business took me out to Los Angeles, California early in 2018. My big brother picked me up from the airport and as we were grabbing a coffee, I told him, “I think something bad is going to happen at work. I don’t think my boss likes me at all.”

With his unpracticed yet ever present zen-like personality, he said something along the lines of, “it’ll be ok. Handle what you need to and be who you are, and things will work out.”

Around the same time, I was confident that my relationship of four years wasn’t heading anywhere good and would probably end soon.

In anticipation of the work and personal stress that was to come, I went to bed early so I could wake for a run on the beach.

Traveling there from Brooklyn, NY and already being an early riser, I was up waaaay before most on Santa Monica Beach. It was beautiful.

N.E.R.D and Andre 3000 got me moving, with Rollinem 7’s blasting. I played the song on repeat while running on the beach, increasing my pace each time the beat shifted before 3-stacks blesses the track.

That song plus my brother’s message told me…keep rollin. Woo WOOOOO! (IYKYN ;-))

That practice stuck with me - find what you need, when you need, and use it how you need.

Fast forward a few months, I’m on my couch, sitting in front of a six pack of Southern Tier IPA and a chicken and broccoli combo from the local Chinese restaurant, getting ready to watch Eddie Murphy’s Boomerang and feel sorry for myself, while getting a laugh.

I faced betrayal and found out that my partner at the time was who I was afraid she was, faced unfair treatment and left my job, and was alone in more ways than one…that left me feeling like I had been hit by a ton of bricks. I was in a dark place and needed something to keep me going.

My best friend from college told me to feel what I was going through, but to get back up. He sent me a number of YouTube clips from various speakers, who let me know I wasn’t the only one facing the problems.

I always responded, these are good. Thanks.

But then he asked me, what did they say to you? Each day I had to report back. Hearing it was good, but truly listening got me thinking. I started listening to more YouTube clips, reading books, and devouring anything that would inspire me. Slowly but surely, I started to see the world differently, and I wanted to share that with my friends.

So, I started posting motivational quotes and inspirational messages like it was my job. And guess what? People loved it! My words resonated with them, and I knew I was onto something, yet was scared to do more.

Until now.

This blog is all about positivity, motivation, and finding ways to be your best self. We'll talk about hard truths, personal effectiveness, and how to unleash your true potential. And don't worry, I'll break down complex ideas with analogies based on my favorite artists music, authors who inspire me, conversations I have, and points that come to me in the middle of the night.

So buckle up and get ready to be inspired. We're going to explore the depths of our souls, conquer our challenges, and achieve greatness together. I'm confident that with a little bit of wit, some good vibes, and a whole lot of Jay-Z references, we'll become the best versions of ourselves. Are you ready to join me on this epic journey?
